Ceramic shopping, not for the timid

Impossible to get to or see anything

Chinese Pack-n-Play

One of my very favorite sightings while living here.

This man is keeping his toddler captive in the silver pot so he can tend to his store

He seems pretty happy to me

I think it's just a matter of time til he cracks the code and escapes

Tyson's chicken name brand recognition

Always excited to see a brand of food that is familiar when shopping at the grocery store

If you look a little closer, not so exciting

Yeah!!! Chicken Paws! Who knew chickens had paws and that I could buy them in Shanghai?

Which Hat? Same letters, different message

While Christmas shopping  several months back we came across these hats that say LOVE....

Kind of nice to see a hat that says LOVE... could be cute

But, if you get the letters mixed up.....
LOVE backwards sounds like EVIL or "EVOL"

Fashion in China

You will never see a female with shorts on and bare legs, always nylons too.

Orange is the most popular other than black

Not uncommon

Lots of color mixing

Steve Jobs and an apple... hmm

Orange is everywhere

Well, you get the idea

We see people in their pj's all the time. While walking the street

In sum, big orange shoes are a fashion DO, in Shanghai!

What would you think?

I'm sitting in the a car and look to the left.... what is that?
This is about all I can see since I'm in the passenger seat. WOW...It's a "green" car.

He started to "drive" err, peddle away and then I could see he was a plant vendor.

Off he goes. So cool what you can see in Shanghai. You have to be quick with the camera.

Educational DVD for Children

Be carful what you buy on the street for your children.

Award winning educational toy? Maybe it aids in learning the ABD's

Very good apple

I'm not sure what's in the apple but it better be good. This very large apple was being sold around Chinese New Year for 109.42 rmb which is about $17.65
The label reads, "World No.1 apple"
Well I guess if it's the worlds #1 apple, it's worth the price

Funny signs

Sign above the shampoo if you are on a budget and are not sure what to buy

Right to the point... you have to admire it.

This store is selling clothing.
Won't find this store in the states

Okay... nice thought
This sign, I think, is asking you not to leave presents on the flowers
As long as we are clear, keep your flames covered please while on the The Great Wall.

This is self explanatory but unfortunate how necessary it is in Shanghai. This sign is indoors.

"Live stays with green".... IDK
Watch out for flying cars!

Keeping you safe

The management of our compound/sub-division seems to always be trying to keep us safe and warn us of any potential hazzards.

Here is an example:

I appreciate a good warning, as a Mom, but this might be an overstatement.

This "river" only moves if a duck swims along.

Here is the close up of the dangerous river and beach.
There are a lot of rules in China.

Hotel Shanghai

My Favorite hotel to drive by in Shanghai

We have some very pretty hotels here in Shanghai but they don't make me smile like this one does.

I know, it is not fancy nor attractive but read the sign.

I ask, whoever will listen, every time we drive by, "what does hotel thing confluence mean?" then I laugh. I'm the only on in the car who really gets a chuckle out of this. I hope you do too. :-)
